I'm Jeremy Crane — a product development leader with 20+ years building software products. I think out loud here about how modern products get built, organized, prioritized, and what AI is actually doing to all of it.
Thinking "Outloud"
- The Friction Was the Filter June 16, 2026 AI collapsed the gap between an idea and shipping it. But the friction I lost was doing work I never credited — and now I'm rebuilding it by hand.
- Natural Language Might be the Last Programming Language March 10, 2026 The entire history of programming is a story of abstraction. If the pattern holds, natural language won't just generate code — it will replace it as the programming layer itself.
- AI and the Great Viability Expansion July 15, 2025 Value and Viability are still the keys to PM success, but the viability landscape has shifted so fast that your intuition from even 18 months ago might be wrong.
- Will We Finally See the End of the Product vs. Project Debate with AI? April 2, 2024 The product vs. project debate has been going on for years. AI might finally settle it — by making the distinction irrelevant.
My Personal Product Beliefs
- No One Size Fits All — learn from others, but don't follow blindly
- Organize for the Given — structure for what needs to be free, then put energy into the rest
- Small Teams Build Faster — two devs, a PM, and a designer can do astonishing things
- Clarify Ambiguity — name the assumptions so the team is solving the same problem
- Reduce Friction — before you try to exceed expectations, make sure people can use the thing
- AI Is Going to Change Everything — the impossible is now possible
